INSTALL INSTRUNET i2x0 HARDWARE ON WINDOWS 95/98/Me via LEGACY v2 SOFTWARE INSTALLATION > INSTALLATION SUMMARY >
To install instruNet i200 PCI or i230 Pcmcia HARDWARE on a Windows 95/98/Me Computer, via legacy v2 instruNet software, please do the following steps:
Understand that v3.0 instruNet software and the i4xx Cards do NOT run on the older Windows 95/98/Me/Nt/2k hardware,
as noted here.
Also, note that the i240 USB Controller is only compatible with Windows XP ≥ Sp3.
Make sure you are on a Windows 95/98/Me computer
Install the instruNet software, as noted above,
Turn computer POWER off, Install the physical instruNet PCI or PCMCIA card
Attach the instruNet network devices
Attach the instruNet terminator, Tighten the thumbscrews
Turn the computer on
It may ask you for a PCI or PCMCIA Card Driver on boot-up; in which case, one must navigate via the Browse/Other Locations button
to the .inf/.vxd files on your computer in the directories listed below. Press Next to move through the installation
process. It might say "Please insert disk labeled 'Program files \ instruNet \ internal \ Pcmcia or Pci Win95 Driver \'
directory". At this point, you must navigate to "Progra~1 \ instru~1 \ internal \ Pcmcia~1 \ iNt95Pcm.vxd" for
Pcmcia or "Progra~1 \ instru~1 \ internal \ PciWin~1 \ iNet95.vxd" for PCI. You might need to type "iNt95Pcm.vxd"
for Pcmcia or "iNet95.vxd" for PCI into the file name field, while "Progra~1 \ instru~1 \ internal \ Pcmcia~1 or PciWin~1 \"
is selected in the Directory area. When done, the card should be listed under "Data Acquisition Cards" in the System "
Device Manager".
Reboot your computer and verify that your system is working by clicking here.
If your i2x0 card is not see by the software, please try removing/reattaching the sys/inf driver; and if that does not fix it, please click here.
Note that the i230 does not run under Win NT and that the i240 USB Controller is only compatible with Windows XP ≥ Sp3
