HOW TO GENERATE A WINDOWS REGISTRY REPORT TROUBLESHOOTING > REPORT >
The instruNet i200/i230 drivers install information into the Windows
Registry, which is a low level database of internal information relating to the operating
system and installed components. To view the registry, select "Run" in the Windows
START menu, type "regedit", and press RETURN. This will open the Registry Editor.
instruNet stores driver information in the following places:
i230 Win Nt/2k/Xp/Vs/7/8 (not ≥ 10)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CURRENT CONTROL SET \ ENUM \ PCMCIA \
To save registry information to a TEXT file: drill down to the point where the PCI and
PCMCIA folders are visible, select PCMCIA or PCI (depending on what you are
interested in), right click, select "Export", specify a .txt TEXT file type, and then save
the information to disk. This can then be emailed to your instruNet supplier for
comment when debugging conflicts between various hardware components. If the
right click "Export" feature is not available, which is sometimes the case with older
computers, then one can select PRINT, to print the information to a file or to paper.
It is best to generate a registry report when the i2x0 hardware is installed in the
computer (i.e. after running the instruNet_Setup.exe software and inserting the card),
yet when instruNet software (e.g. instruNet World, DasyLab, etc) is Not
running.
